Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-03-30 · Last Updated: 2026-03-30

This Privacy Policy explains how Marco Polo Research Lab LLC, a California limited liability company ("MPR Lab", "Company", "we", "our", "us"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use SummerCan (the "Service").

1. Scope and Controller

Effective March 30, 2026, SummerCan is operated by Marco Polo Research Lab LLC. This policy applies to the public website, the authenticated planning experience, shared-plan access, and related support or notification workflows.

2. Information We Collect

Account and authentication data

When sign-in is enabled, we use Google Identity Services and our authentication infrastructure to sign you in. We may receive or store identifiers and profile fields needed to operate the account, including your email address, display name, avatar URL, tenant or user identifiers, and session-related metadata.

Family planning and schedule data

We process the information you enter to build plans, including plan names, saved children, child names, child ages, unavailable date or time ranges, selected camp groups, session preferences, optimization inputs, discovery results, and final schedule outputs.

Sharing and notification data

We store share tokens for plans you choose to share and we may process completion email preferences, delivery events, and related metadata when optional completion emails are enabled for your environment.

Technical and support data

We process technical data such as IP address, request timestamps, browser details, service logs, and support communications for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.

3. How We Use Information

  • Authenticate users and protect account access.
  • Save planning data, generate schedules, and display shareable plan results.
  • Operate optional on-demand schedule-email delivery for finished plans.
  • Monitor reliability, investigate abuse, and improve product quality.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers strictly as needed to operate SummerCan, including authentication, hosting, email, logging, and infrastructure providers.

If you use a share link, anyone who has that link can access the shared plan view, so you should treat share URLs like private bearer links. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, or other corporate transaction.

5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies

  • Session cookies may be used for authentication and security.
  • Browser local storage may store interface preferences or session state.
  • We do not currently use SummerCan for ad targeting or cross-site ad tracking.

6. Data Retention

We retain account, plan, and operational records for as long as reasonably needed to operate the Service, preserve shared-plan access you choose to keep active, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and satisfy legal, accounting, or security obligations.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information. To make a request, contact support@mprlab.com.

8. Children's Privacy

SummerCan is intended for parents, guardians, and family planners, not for children to create accounts or use the Service directly. If you provide information about a child, you represent that you are authorized to do so. If you believe a child has submitted personal information directly without required authorization, contact us at support@mprlab.com.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, transport security, and service monitoring. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. At this time, SummerCan does not respond differently to those signals because there is no universally adopted standard for interpreting them.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by revising the effective date on this page.
